Is anyone besides me bothered that they are even putting these two genres together? Not to mention hip-hop ain't even as big as it used to be

What you mean it "ain't even as big as it used to be".  I'd say it's bigger than ever.  Maybe it's not as commercialized in the media, but I'd say it's bigger than ever.
